My goal in life is to share my nutrition knowledge with the aim of inspiring you to make positive changes that enable you to live a longer, happier and healthier life. I specialise in weight loss and detoxification programs enable clients to make changes and take control of the most important thing in life… YOUR HEALTH.
Throughout high school I struggled with my weight, I had uncontrollable cravings for chocolate and sugars and couldn’t control my binges. My university years were even worse, when I fell into a state of depression followed by anxiety. My life has totally transformed since then.
The major turning point came when my father invited me to do a detox with him in Thailand. I met people from all over the world who had cured illnesses by eliminating toxins and replenishing the body with nutrients. I knew there was something to this; I had to learn more!
Following the week’s detox I experienced a huge change in my body, mostly due to clearing out the bad bacteria in my gut that had been driving my sugar cravings. At the end of my fast I felt vibrant and energetic, my skin had cleared and my eyes were a bright blue. When I returned home I made radical changes to my diet and those sugar cravings were gone.
I felt so excited about the change that I decided to completely change the course of my career in sales/marketing and went back to university to study a three year Bachelor of Nutrition. During those initial three years, having found my passion in life, I embarked on a journey, which has completely transformed my own life and allowed me the privilege to help others who are going through a similar transition. After my Bachelor Degree in Health Science I continued to advance my studies, following on to complete a Graduate Diploma of Nutrition and a Masters in Nutrition; I truly believe that ongoing education and learning are essential for success and personal growth.
People so often think that my diet and exercise is 100% perfect because I’m a nutritionist; but just like you, I am human too and see life as a balance; I want to enjoy the pleasures of life, but choose to fuel my body with super-foods throughout the week to allow myself these pleasures whilst still maintaining my health. What I want people to know is that we’re all human, we all have our vices and you don’t have to be perfect 100% all of the time to be healthy! I chose my treats wisely, I enjoy myself, and I do all the other stuff right to maintain a healthy balance. So yes, you may see me at one of our local bars sipping on a vodka soda, but come Monday morning, I’ll be drinking Spirulina and chewing on Brussels sprouts!
I can personally say that the more I learnt about nutrition, the healthier I became. I went from being the girl that was teased about being overweight, to doing modeling work to support me during my studies. My body transformed when I put the right foods into it, but more importantly, my mood changed, my depression lifted and I finally felt good in my skin again. I believe that if you put the right foods into your body, your body will do the right thing for you. Ask yourself – how well are you treating your body, and how well is your body treating you?
So many of my clients come to me because they just don’t feel good anymore. Many of us are lacking in specific minerals, which are leading to fatigue, poor immunity, anxiety/depression and digestive issues, I have chosen to focus my nutritional expertise on weight loss, detoxifying the body and teaching healthy eating guidelines so that I can improve overall health and provide ongoing wellness for my clients.
Having worked with thousands of clients during my years as a practicing nutritionist, and most specifically over the past few years in weight loss, I have a very clear insight into which diets are effective for both weight loss and overall health. There are far too many well recognized diets for weight loss that basically leave you feeling fatigued, hungry and generally run down or at times unwell; these diets are not sustainable long-term for your health and wellbeing. My program is nothing like that; it’s about teaching you the right foods to eat to get you feeling great so that you actually want to continue eating that way!
I’m passionate about teaching my clients how to use food to increase their energy and improve any health conditions they have, so that they can get the most out of life and feel fantastic. There is nothing more satisfying than watching as a client reclaims their life and becomes happier and healthier through changing their diet and lifestyle.
